Celebrating International Day of Women and Girls in Science

This week it’s International Day of Women and Girls in Science and at Cryoniss, we’re celebrating equality and diversity.

Celebrating International Day of Women and Girls in Science at Cryoniss

That’s why, as part of our mission to encourage more women and girls into STEM careers from an early age, we are delighted to sponsor our very own football team – Upton girls under 8’s.

Just look at them wearing that logo with pride (and it was an apt -2°C on that particular morning!).*

The team have been playing together for three years now, facing freezing cold Saturday morning matches and soggy Monday evening training sessions with never-failing smiles, and we think they epitomise some our values: expertise, consistency and…ahem…agility. 😉

They are pretty successful actually, but what we’re even more impressed with is their camaraderie, team spirit and never-say-die attitude. No histrionics, no rolling on the floor in ‘agony’, no eye-rolling or head-shaking or other blame culture gestures should something go wrong. They look out for each other, win, lose or draw.  Just as we do at Cryoniss.

And they don’t see themselves as a ‘girls’ football team’. They’re just footballers. On International Day of Women and Girls in Science, that’s something to be proud of and well worth celebrating. We’re hugely proud of them and look forward to finding more ways in which we can inspire the next generation.
